Like Mary Higgens-Clark, I have lost interest in his novels since the boy with those strange eyes. I forgot the name of the book, but I have not enjoyed reading his novels.

I loved the book Twilight Eyes. I think you're talking about the one where the guy can see actual goblins, right?

I'm on a Dean Koontz kick. (I've read his books in the past, but it's been a while) I just finished THE TAKING -- which I loved, and LIFE EXPECTANCEY, which was a little too 'light' for me. I also have four more on my shelf to read.

I recently watched the movie The Servants of Twilight. As usual, the movie wasn't nearly as good as the book.
Just finished: The Plague by Albert Camus ~ completed 12.02.05 ~ rating: 8.5 of 10 ~ this book doesn't have many pages, but it isn't an easy read. I couldn't quite give it a 9 because the character development wasn't as rich as I'd like. It is very well written
and Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp ~ completed 12.09.05 ~ rating 8.0 of 10 ~ this is a book about biblical childrearing. Although I don't agree with everything written in the book, I very much like the fact that the author condemns those who use corporal punishment with their children in anger. Parents don't have a license to do as they'd like just because they're bigger. Also, he emphasizes that parents much take responsibility for the wrongs they do to their children. Currently Reading: Gilead by Marilynne Robinson. |

I love Dean Koontz! He's my favourite! I love Odd Thomas, and I am looking forward to seeing what else he has up his sleeve, since I hear there is going to be a sequel.
I love Phantoms too! Actually I have read every book by him, and there wasn't one I didn't enjoy... well maybe a couple weren't as good as some of the others but I still liked reading them. |

I've read so many I can't even count them. One thing I know is I'm not as keen about his latter work. I miss the old Koontz, where everything was fast but well-detailed and fun. Now, I feel his working being a "writer" rather than a simple, effective author of the best-seller.

Has anyone read the books which he wrote under the name Leigh Nichols? He also used Bryan ??? (sorry, can't remember at the moment).
Oh, and I loved Phantoms. I can remember that when I was reading it, we had a clock that chimed every 15 minutes. I got so immersed in the book that, when the chime sounded, I screamed. I normally don't do that. ![]() Just finished: Shepherding a Child's Heart by Tedd Tripp ~ completed 12.09.05 ~ rating 8.0 of 10 ~ this is a book about biblical childrearing. This is a book of the quiet strength of an elderly preacher who knows he is nearing the end of his life and wants to leave a bit of a legacy to his little boy. He decides to write him a letter. This book is the letter. This book is worth taking the time to read.Currently Reading: Blink by Malcolm Gladwell. |

I'm really enjoying Koontz's series about Odd Thomas. I've read the first two over the past month and am currently on the waiting list at the library for the third one.
I like Koontz's books when they are mysteries, even mysteries with some supernatural or sci-fi elements. A few of them are too much like horror novels for my taste. |

No; I'm going to wait for the paperback, difficult though that will be!
Dean Koontz allegedly has a plan for a total of SEVEN Odd Thomas books! |
