I saw the movie first, that's what inspired me to pickup his books. Though the movie didn't turn out exactly like the book...it was good to see that
the difference between them didn't degrade the book from the movie and vice versa.

I bought Book of Leaves some time ago, and started reading it, but never really got into it. Would be interested what you think of it.

I picked up three while away - why do you always purchase books in airports??

Because they've got you trapped, and you're desperate! Mind you, on my recent work trip to Hobart I stocked up big time at a fantastic bookshop just
before heading out to the airport so didn't have to make do with the very slim pickings there. (I am so glad I didn't have to weigh my carry on
luggage, although I would've checked it in if they'd asked.
That's not a bad haul though, The Nunns. That airport must've had a bookshop with a decent range. Last book I bought: Savage Mountain, Savage Summer by John Barry.

I will never forget going crazy and finding every book referred to me by a fortune teller in Lilydale NY at a huge used book store close by .. I was late to
catch a connecting flight in Detroit - running concourses like a marathon'er with 90 lbs of novel slung over my shoulder and dragging behind me .. I
honestly thought I was going to pop a valve and die between gates 4 and 20 - Lesson Learned: Never go to a used book store or flea market unless you're
driving or have postage money.

Cutielady, but of course! And the bonus is you didn't hand over any cash.
(Congrats on your 50,000th post, too, and best wishes for your 60,00th. You rock!) The Nunns - that's brilliant! Exactly the sort of thing I do, and have done, and am yet to learn from. The number of times I've had the 'heavy
baggage' label slapped on me even after posting books home...
