I was at my brother's home last Thursday for one of my weekly visits there. His wife made chicken and dumplings and things were fine until about 2 hours after we ate. Then, I quickly realized I was getting dizzier and dizzier. I went to go to the bathroom and had to grab hold of a coffee table as I couldn't make it without some support. It got worse after I came out and that was eventually followed by some severe vomiting. Due to my health problems, my brother didn't want to take a chance so he called for an ambulance. When the ambulance people arrived, one of them thought that I had possibly had a stroke. Then got me to walk outside which wasn't easy...I couldn't walk straight and I was listing to one side according to them (I didn't remember that myself). They took me to a local hospital where I stayed until Sunday. I was told that what had most likely happened to me was an inner ear infection. I felt much better by the following day.
I was discharged on Sunday but went back on Monday for surgery for a different matter. They installed a catheter in my shoulder which will be used for upcoming dialysis treatments. I am still heavily bandaged up on my shoulder and neck. I can remove the bandage tomorrow. I'm not sure when my first dialysis will occur...I believe it will be within 2 weeks or so, however. That's something else I am not looking forward to.
