Last night, while my husband was walking the line, there was an explosion at his work. One man was seriously injured and two others were hurt.

The news about the explosion is pretty scarce. AK seems to be keeping a lid on it the best they can.

Here's a funny story - that I watched in the back yard this morning. It didn't make the news though.
We have a creek directly behind us, a wooden fence between it and our yard. The Canadian Geese are back and making a huge racket. I saw two land in the creek and then saw one of the cats jump on the fence, the other soon followed, both were hanging off one side, watching them. I walked out on the deck and the geese flapped their wings and started honking. I never saw two cats run so fast! One ran right into the screen door, the other ran as fast as he could to the front yard. I laughed so hard. I still giggle thinking about it. The big tough one, that ran towards the front yard is the mighty hunter, he's brought us a crow, rats from the wetlands, mice. Hub caught him dragging a duck across the yard, he even hunted my friends chihuahua. Wonder if he'll try to take the geese on. Today's news entitled it: Healthcare Fallout as New Westminster's Royal Columbian Hospital and B.C. Legislature received criticism for the healthcare crisis in Provincial emergency rooms. One elderly man, 88, with pneumonia died in the hallway after seven hours of being neglected by staff. His daughter was there the whole time. It took seven hours before a doctor looked at him or a nurse to provide event the basic of care - a blanket! He died while he was being examined.
This isn't the first time I've heard stories like this and I saw a clip from the comment made by the leading politician in legislature who didn't provide any support in the way of resolving the issue. All he offered was the blaming of the past government. Suffice it to say health care in B.C. 'aint what it used to be. |

In Switzerland a well known Swiss skiing star was shot by her husband. He also shot her brother and injured her mother and is now a fugitive. The police havn't got him yet. they have a baby daughter. Before he did it, he put the daughter in a room on her own in bed so she wasn't injured. Why did he do it? Because his wife wanted to leave him.

I met a Canadian author in the food store tonight.
www.runninglproductions.com The author, Laura Hesse, is promoting a new, self-published novel titled, The Thin Line of Reason. I'm very glad to have met and chatted with her. I bought the book which she autographed. |

Follow up to the shooting of the Swiss Skiing Star. Her husband had made himself off in the car and there was a sort of police chase O.J. style, but without camera coverage. They lost track of him and found his abandoned car off the beaten track. He eventually shot himself and his body was found yesterday evening.

NEWS STORY A:
GAS & DASH: A white van without a license plate filled up and pulled away from the pumps without paying...the attendent tried to stop the vehicle, but was injured. Although gas station owners/managers claim that employees are not responsible for the loss of money. Many gas station managers/owners do charge the employees by deducting their wages. I know this because I had family members and friends who worked for various gas stations. NEWS STORY B: Kidnapping Times 2: Two children were abducted and returned safely to their family. Three guys apparently wanted to hold the children hostage. The children prayed to be returned safely home. NEWS STORY C: Jesse James Jr and Boyz: Three young boys (under 14) were not playing games, when they were caught robbing banks. They are suspected in 7 cases. It baffles even the police who arrested them. "Check out Myspace! http://www.myspace.com/aquaryan "

Strange and tragic thing happened in Switzerland.
There were 3 men working on a train at the station. The train had to be moved and the brakes didn't work - a sort of runaway train. There was nothing they could do and the controls couldn't help either. they just hoped that the train went down the track and started uphill to be able to slow it down. This didn't work and eventually the train was brought to a standstill by crashing into another train which was empty on the tracks. The tragic result was that the 3 men, all family fathers, lost their lives. There will be an enquiry, but they were in a terrible situation before the accident as they must have known what would happen eventually. |
