Hurrah! Yes, and several times too. It's also survived several books culls. (Alistair MacLean was one of my favourite authors when I was a teen. I
haven't read any of his books in years and I suspect they may not've travelled well, as a lot of them even then seemed very much of their time.)

Yes, Wally Lamb's She's come Undone because of the show and Pillars of the Earth long before she recommended it.
--------- Have you ever read the short story "Sonny's Blues" by James Baldwin? I read it as a freshman in college and it moved me so much. I just reread it for the first time since then and it is still intense and amazing. |
