Ummm, what am I missing? What does A Thousand Splendid Suns have to do with Obama? I am admittedly out of the loop....
To me it is about the constricture of a society on "illegitimate" children, a loving but weak father, the cruelty to women allowed in certain cultures, about survival, friendship and coming to terms and learning to live with the burdens of the past.
