I know I need to walk for excercise more...I need it get healthier and to get my weight down, but for some reason I never keep it up long enough. Sometimes I've managed to do it several times a week but rarely for more than a couple weeks at a time. Tonight, I saw the season premiere of "The Biggest Loser", a weight-loss reality show and that show does tend to want me to get back to working on my weight so I'm going to make more of an effort and get back to walking...as long as the weather doesn't turn to freezing temperatures. I'll weigh myself in the morning...I'm not sure where I'm at right now, though. For the longest time I was hovering around 200 pounds...a few pounds over or as low as the low 190s. I did hit the 180s briefly...I think I got down to 188 at one point. So now my goal will be to see how much I can get my weight down by the time they have the season finale of this show, though I'm not sure how much time that gives me. I will try walking as often as 6 times a week...I will give myself at least one off-day each week though I may not walk every day at first. This first week, I may walk 3 days and then give myself an off day...and then eventually try to walk more often.
I also will try to watch what I eat. One thing I did recently (and which I did write about) was that I was only going to eat potatoes once a week. I pretty much kept to that though there were a few weeks where I did have potatoes more than one time. I will probably continue that and I also will try to cut back on some other foods. I had a sandwich today and after eating it, I realized that...I really don't care for most sandwiches. Maybe I just don't care for the types of bread that are best for me, I don't know, but I don't think I'm going to have bread in the house much anymore. I do like the sandwiches I get at Subway and will still get one of those once in awhile and perhaps the odd slice when eating away from home but mostly it's something I really don't feel the need to have. I may do a follow-up on this tomorrow and then do a weekly "Wednesday Weight Report" or some such thing once a week. We'll see. Walking will be the toughest thing to do...here in West Virginia, walking from home means going up and down some hills which aren't always easy. But I guess if it was easy, everybody would be doing it.
Oh, one added note...I wrote the above last night and I did weigh myself this morning...I'm starting at 201.6 pounds. I thought I might start at a bit heavier than that.
