Whew, there is no justifying the madness of some people. It really makes you think about going into public places anymore.

The reports have been that at least three people are dead and ten injured.
TheNunns, I agree. My sympathies to all those affected (sp?) by the incident. It must be dreadful for the emergency workers who have to deal with the aftermath of these tragic events. |

That is awful. We don't really have anything like this in the U.K.

Supposedly the guy had been blogging about doing this. It was thought at first that it was domestic violence. But he just had a grudge against women in
general.

I saw the report of that on the TODAY Show this morning - my gosh, this is what people write fiction about - it's never supposed to actually take place. It
is so very hard to believe no one picked up on his mindset but, you can't act on what people say or how they act until it results in the actual crime. So
very sad and so very scary.

From what I read he belonged to this gym. And from the picture they showed he was a nice looking man. But he hadn't had a girlfriend since the 80's. He
claimed that he worked hard on his appearance etc. but could not get any women interested. I just think that if you have so much women hatred that you could
walk into an aerobics class and start shooting that perhaps all that hostility cam through to the women he tried to date. Whatever!!...he has killed himself
and killed and injured others. What a waste!

I'm sure he had to show some of that hatred in his mannerisms. Even though women do like nice looking men, everyone I know thinks a kind-hearted man (who
isn't a wimp) is so much more important.

LL, I would rather you not refer to people as wimps, pansies, cissies etc. Really, it is insulting and unnecessary. I cannot get along with bullying language.
After all Jesus turned the other cheek. Perhaps it is because I have witnessed many people being bullied with these words, including my eight year old cousin.

Personally, I think a guy who goes into a fitness centre and shoots several innocent people, just because he is unhappy, can't get laid, broke a
fingernail, whatever, is a wimp.

Just an aside to this terrible story. I had lunch with my sister today and she told me that this killer use to work at the same law firm as her SO (boyfriend).
As a matter of fact my sisters guy thought he was rather intelligent and they worked together for awhile. But here is the chilling thing. I asked ...did you
ever meet him and she said ..yes..and so did you. He was at a party my sister gave for her friends and her bf's work associates. I remember being at the
party but I only have a vague recollection of this man. Just the thought of being in the room with a future mass murderer...chilll

Wow .. now that would give me a shiver, you never know do you? .. And, even though I consider you living in a big city - it's still a close contact world.

so true!!! Some call Pittsburgh the biggest little small town in the states. No one can ever have an illicit affair here because you always run into someone
you know.

Saundra,
If it makes you feel any better (it won't)- a kid I went to school with viciously murdered a young woman about four or five years ago. When I first heard about it, I was surprised, but then I remember how he had changed over the period of a summer. He went from looking like a normal sweet kid to literally having sort of dead eyes. He was in about 8th grade and I think we (other kids) all knew something was wrong, but he was unapproachable and pretty fierce. Plus, at that age we just didn't know what to do. His father later testified that he had severely beaten the boy when he was growing up. And of course he started abusing drugs and his life took a very bad turn. The whole thing made me very sad for that poor little boy. Not to mention, of course, the woman he murdered. |
