Last book that I purchased

I don't often buy books, but was prompted to purchase a newly published novel called "The Legacy" by Stephen Richardson for sentimental reasons. Steve Richardson worked for the same organization that I do, and in 1999 he decided to take a 1 yr. sabbatical from his very stressful executive position. During that year he did some travelling, and also wrote "The Legacy"; his first novel. It's a story partly set in my city (Ottawa, Ontario), and is about a man who inherits a manuscript collection which involves him in a bizarre case that spans from 1880 in France to present day Ottawa.
Unfortunately, Steve Richardson died of a massive heart attack at the age of 43 about 2 weeks after returning to work. His wife has made the arrangements to have his book published. I haven't started the book yet, but the blurb from the back cover sounds interesting, and the book will always remind me of this friendly and hardworking man that died way too young. Pam |

Re: Last book that I purchased

Hi, guys...sorry I haven't been by too much lately. Here's the last 3 books I have bought...
The Life of Daniel Boone by Lyman C. Draper, LL.D.--Edited with an Introduction by Ted Franklin Belue. This is said to be the best book ever written on the famous explorer and was actually written in the 1800s but never published. It consisted of over 800 pages so the editing (and introduction) is of some importance. That doesn't even end in this volume until page 100. At any rate, I've thought off and on about buying this book for several months but wasn't sure I wanted to spend $40 on it...I finally found it for little more than half-price online so now I finally have a copy. The other two books I bought were paperback westerns. One has this blurb on the cover: "America's Greatest Western Classic: Over Four Million Copies In Print". Would anyone like to venture a guess what this book could be? The other book I bought was "The Quick and the Dead" by Louis L'Amour. |
